Happy Black History Month! The brush is the one thing woman around the world could not imagine to go day to day without. An African American named Lydia O. Newman who is also a New Yorker patented the brush in 1898 on November 15th. Her invention allowed easy cleaning by having an detachable unit that carried the brush and bristles. Thank God for the Brush cause Lord knows I use it every day, Thank you Lydia O. Newman!
